Spiritual Video Games? Why Not!

I know it sounds crazy but hear me out! My boyfriend pointed out this game to me a few days ago and I am completed fascinated and I think I just might have to download it soon so I can try it out. The name of the video game is “Flower” and it’s available for the Playstation3, definitely via download, possibly on disc as well. “Flower” was published by thatgamecompany as a sequel to their previous title “flOw” about which I know absolutely nothing.

What caught my attention about this video game was watching an interview with the video game designer where he said that instead of appealing to our hyperactive brains’ desire for constant stimulus and the  hyper-stimulated feeling that video games leave you with, “Flower” instead is focused on stimulating feel good, relaxed, at peace feelings in your brain, leaving the player with a zen like sensation after playing.

From what I can gather, in the game you play the wind and you move through the game organically stimulating your environment and collecting various natural flotsams in your wake.

When I finally try out the game, I will follow up on this post because I really am excited to try it out – from listening to the creator, it sounds like it could be a pseudo-meditational experience for the new generation, and to me, that would just be a trip! Anyone else tried it already or have any thoughts?
