It’s that time of month! Time for the full moon!

The full moon officially is tomorrow, but the influence begins today (it extends for three days – the day before, the day of, and the day after) and so it’s the perfect to create some holy water. Here’s how to do it!

  1. Get some water. The better quality, the better – rain water or natural spring water would be best, but if all you’ve got is tap or hose water, that will work too.
  2. Put it into a nice bottle or jar – something translucent or clear is best, so that light can penetrate it.
  3. Place sacred herbs and stones into the bottle or jar along with the water.
  4. Place the bottle or jar outside in the sacred moonlight.
  5. Leave it out in the sacred sunlight the next day as well.
  6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 for up to the three full days of full moon light. One night and day is plenty, but all three pack more oomph!
  7. Place your hands over the bottle or jar and say a prayer of thanks to your chosen source, creator, or deity.
  8. That’s it!

Those are you 8 simple steps to making holy water!

Holy water can be used for all sorts of things. Cleansing, charging, sanctifying, blessing, washing, anointing, etc. If you make a nice big batch, it’ll last a long time!

Oh, and one last tip – if you live somewhere it gets hot during the day or where there are a lot of bugs, leave the stopper on the bottle or jar so the water remains inside (instead of evaporating) and no bugs get inside.

There you have it!
