The Seasons Change and So Do We

AAh, it’s been a long time, hasn’t it been! During this whole situation going on around the world (I don’t mean to minimize but I also don’t want to trigger anyone) I’ve had plenty of time to think about what I really love and what I really want. What I truly want is to be able to teach people, to guide people, and to mentor people. There are people in the world who are great at giving people one-off lessons, specific niche lessons on divination or witchcraft, courses on Shadowwork… these kinds of things, but what truly make me happy to is to support someone from the beginning of their…

What I’m Working On Right Now

So, I’m trying to remember to post updates to my website more often – I usually touch in over on YouTube or via Podcast or just Social media, but I’m trying to get away from that so much and really focus things on my website more. So, the last few weeks since the start of the George Floyd protests, really, I’ve just been focused on politics, news, and, frankly, doom-scrolling. It’s DIRE out there and it’s hard to NOT feel that direness and refocusing my attention anywhere else feels… flippant? Negligent? Selfish? But, I know – we all need breaks and just scrolling through Twitter is NOT accomplishing that much,…

    Black Lives Matter

On May 27th, protests began in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a result of the murder of George Floyd by then-officer Derek Chauvin. As of today, June 9th, protests continue throughout the country and around the world. While George Floyd’s murder may have been the flashpoint, it is NOT the single, solitary cause. Black Lives in our country have been treated as less worthy for over 400 years – sometimes more overtly and sometimes more covertly, and always sytemically. As a country, and as an entire planet, we have a LOT of work to do. While all people of color experience some discrimination and systemic discrimination, that experienced by black people is…

    Goodbye, Facebook!

Hey, folks! If you’ve been following me over on my Facebook page, you may have noticed that I’ve been silent for the last couple weeks – and that’s true! I’ve been working on getting off Facebook for the last year or so and have been talking about it a lot more the last couple months, and, in fact, was going to leave entirely back in January but did not because of We Witches Three. Since I left We Witches Three, there isn’t much reason for me to keep myself tied to a Social Media platform that not only isn’t in alignment with my values, but which I also hate to…

    Sanctity of Anger

I’ve been seeing an image going around on Instagram from Dick Sutphen’s book “The Oracle Within” that I want to talk about because the way it’s being shared is how the spiritual and witchy community tries to suppress and denigrate negative emotions and feelings, and especially anger, which is a way that deny ourselves and commit spiritual bypassing. The passage reads: “Any time you get upset with someone, it is a self-created karmic test to see how much you’ve learned and whether you’ll need to be tested in the future. Did you respond to the situation with compassion or neutrality? Did you respond with anger or negativity? Until you learn…

🦋 Butterfly vs Snake 🐍; Transformation vs Transmutation

Butterfly and Snake are both often presented as lessons in change and transformation, but there’s really a big difference in these two symbols or lessons. But what IS that difference? Love and Light/Thoughts and Prayers

I found myself chuckling bitterly at Twitter today when I saw someone commenting “thoughts and prayers” in reply to a news story about proper comeuppance. It’s ironic and bitter and appropriate that this phrase has become so clearly UNsympathetic when it’s the only thing offered by a large section of the populace in regards to large, preventable tragedies. I do my best in public internet spaces NOT to comment directly on politics as much as I can get away with (although sometimes I can’t help myself) since I am very much a religiously-oriented person and I am ALSO ordained and I VERY MUCH believe in the separation of church in…

October Full Moon Community Candle Requests Are Open!

Hey, hey! It’s just about that time again! The full moon is on October 24th at 9:45am Pacific Time, so I’ll be lighting this month’s candle on October 23rd just after sundown. So, this is the part where I remind you to send me your requests for blessings, good fortune, and things you would like help manifesting! I LOVE the community candle! Not only do they build community (a teeny bit), but the collective group energy in one, just by adding multiple folks wishes and desires, adds that much more energy to EVERYONE’s blessings – and that’s pretty cool! And full moons are a great time to work on manifesting,…

    What’s New in CrowSong Lodge?

Well, hello there, friends! Pull up a pillow and some refreshments and let’s catch up! So… yes! The last time we spoke, I was getting ready to head to Readerfest! That was a crazy time….. For anyone who DID go to Readerfest and who did not see on social media that I was NOT going to make it, I apologize for not being there. There were some personal issues, unrelated to me, and, as a result, I was no longer desired to attend Readerfest and asked not to come after all (though I was already 17 hours into my trip). As it so happened, I was spending the night at…
